Founded in 1951 by Achille Maramotti in Reggio Emilia, the Max Mara fashion house revolutionized Italian ready-to-wear by introducing American industrial processes. The Manuela coat, in pure camel hair, and the 101801 coat in wool and cashmere have become icons of the brand. Max Mara has collaborated with renowned international stylists and fashion photographers, consolidating its reputation in the industry. The exhibition "Coats! Max Mara, 55 years of Italian fashion" celebrated the journey of the brand in various cities around the world. In 2012, Max Mara received the "Brand Heritage Award" in New York. In 2015, in collaboration with the Renzo Piano Building Workshop, it presented the Whitney Bag on the occasion of the opening of the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York.
